Heidi Swapp Media Team Projects

In July, I decided to make a few projects to submit for the Heidi Swapp Media Team Call.  I didn't make it but it definitely wasn't a waste of time since I now have some great new projects.  I used Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic bowties to make a cute little piece of art for my craft studio.  It sits on my shelf and reminds me to follow Heidi's tag line, "Make pretty stuff!"  perfect for my little creative space!

I purchased a photo frame at my local craft store.  It came with a boring, white photo mat.  I traced the old mat onto one of the Heidi Swapp color magic memory files to create a new pretty mat for my project.   I used teal acrylic paint to get the beautiful blue color and pattern.  It is super easy and I love that you can make the resist have as much contrast as you want by deciding how much ink or paint you wipe off.  I actually wiped it off in the beginning and then decided I wanted less contrast, so I just painted over it again.  I cut a small square of burlap and put it behind my bow ties.  The bow ties come with adhesive on the back and it was strong enough to peel and stick the bows to the burlap.
